Reward, Competition and Social Neuroscience

I am a Principal Investigator in the Institute for Brain Sciences and at the Department of Psychology, Nanjing University, China. I received my master degree in Psychology in the State Key Lab of Cognitive Neuroscience and Learning, Beijing Normal University. Then I went to Cognitive Neurology Group at Max Planck Institute for Neurological Research as a guest internship and a Ph.D student. I received my Ph.D. in Cognitive Neuroscience from CNRS and pursued my postdoc in the same lab in Lyon, France.
I am interested in neuropsychological mechanisms underlying human social behaviors and how competition influences these processes.

Xi is currently a second-year Ph.D student in the lab. Before joining the lab, she used to be a research assistant at Beijing Normal University. She is interested in neuropsychological mechanisms underlying the role of social competition on false memory using behavioral measures and brain imaging methods.
Chengguo is the first-year PhD student in the lab. She received her M.A. ii Psychology from Suzhou University. Her project is related to the neurophysiological mechanisms underlying perceptions of social dominance and social dominance formation using electrophysiological methods (e.g., scalp EEG and iEEG)
I received M.A. Psychology from Hunan Normal University. I am interested in social interaction (competition/cooperation) and self-cognition. In addition, I like sports and I enjoy doing handcrafts and playing the ukulele.
Howhow is the first-year PhD student in the lab. He received master’s degree in psychology from Zhejiang Normal University. he is interested in the neural underpinnings of gambling disorder and social dominance.
I am a master student in the lab. I am interested in social competition. My project explores how unfair competitive relationships affect people’s subsequent cooperative behavior.
Ye is the first year master student in the lab. She received her B.A. in Management from Hainan University in Haikou,China. She pays attention to user experience and hopes psychology can be widely applied to the industrial design.
I’m Yi, a master student in the lab, interested in social competition and cooperation. I have varieties of hobbies involving sports, music, video games and pets. I hope I can explore how social relationship affects people in their mental process and behavior.
Yiwen is the first year master student in the lab. She majored in Japanese during the undergraduate period. She is interested in studying social competition.
Yuqian is a Ph.D. student in the lab. She got her Master degree from Flinders University in Australia. She is interested in social relationships and moral issues. She is good at data analyzing (such as SEM). Ps: She is a cat person.
I am a first-year master’s student,I have a bachelor’s degree in nursing science from Xiamen Medical College. I am interested in user experience and hope to apply the study of user experience to product design.

My name is TingYang, a junior undergraduate in the Department of Applied Psychology of Nanjing University, from Hami City, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. I am very interested in psychology related to sexual psychology and social communication. I hope to further study and engage in this work based on this in the future.

Zixiang used to a master student in my lab and has graduated in June 2019. He focused on a project on neural correlates of sexual dysfunctions in patients with premature ejaculation using the fMRI technique. He now works in Tengxun company.
Shucheng was a master student in the lab. She received her B.A. in Economics from Shanghai Business School in Shanghai, China and has graduated in June 2019 from Nanjing University. Her project is on characterizing social support in intimate relationships. She has now joined Zhenai corporation as a research staff.
Qianqian was a research assistant in the lab. She received her B.A. of Psychology from Rutgers University in New Jersey, United States. She is interested in emotion perception, impression formation and prejudice. She is a big cartoon lover and enjoys drawing during her spare time. She also has a great passion for food and her favorite food is hot pot.
Yaxin was a master student in the lab. She received her B.A. in Psychology from Jilin University in Jilin,China. Her project is related to exploring how integration of rewarding cue information influences human executive functions using the combination of EEG and fMRI techniques.
Yuan was a master student in the lab. She received her B.A. in Management from Hubei University of Education in Wuhan, China. Her master project is related to how social rank influences decision making in material and moral dilemmas using behavioral measures and tDCS.
