Reward, Competition and Social Neuroscience
Director:Prof. Yansong Li

Lab Overview

One line of research in my lab focuses on understanding neuro-computational mechanism underlying how individuals process reward and make decisions based on reward-based learning. The other line of research in my lab is related to understanding the role of competition in shaping the direction of individuals' behavior and how competitive outcomes contribute to the formation of dominance relationships. Our research methods involvesa combination of brain imaging methods such as functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging, fNRIS, intracranial electrophysiological recordings with behavioral paradigms from behavioal economics. In addition, my lab is also interested in understanding neuro-dysfunctions in these processes in patients with neurological or psychiatric illnesses (Premature Ejaculation, Remitted Schizophrenia, pathological gambling).
